A native of the Bay Area, Dr. Lucas grew up in Walnut Creek and attended De La Salle High School. He went to UCLA for his undergraduate where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, and achieved Departmental Highest Honors, graduating Cum Laude. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University where he was honored for his academic achievements by being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Lucas began his orthopaedic surgery training in the United States Navy, where he received specialized training at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute to serve as a Flight Surgeon. After his Naval service, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California San Francisco, followed by one of the most prestigious and competitive shoulder and elbow fellowships at the University of Washington under the mentorship of Dr. Frederick A. Matsen.
Dr. Lucas joined the East Bay Shoulder Clinic in 2015. His practice includes treatment of all general orthopaedic conditions including ankle, knee, and hip disorders, with expertise in shoulder and elbow disorders. He prides himself on offering comprehensive, individualized care, and encourages patient involvement and autonomy.
